Affiliates

One SouthCoast Chamber has affiliate organizations that work side by side with the chamber but may have a separate board of directors, program of work, and/or finances. These organizations focus on specialty areas and allow us to achieve more for our members. Additionally, theses affiliations provide multi-faceted value for members’ investment and access to resource that improves business success.

Southeastern Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce Alliance

The Southeastern Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce Alliance (SMCCA) was formed to address regional challenges and opportunities in current and future legislation at the State House in Boston and Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The alliance is also intended to serve as a platform to work with members of the legislative delegation on policy formation as well as response to existing initiatives put forth at the statewide or national level that directly affect Southeastern Massachusetts.

SouthCoast Electric Power Group

The SouthCoast Electric Power Group (SCEPG) is an affiliate of One SouthCoast Chamber formed in 2002 to help manufacturers and other commercial users aggregate (combine) electric loads and contract for the purchase of electric power from providers. Members of the group are able to negotiate lower costs for electricity.

SouthCoast Human Resources Council

The SouthCoast Human Resources Council is an affiliate of One SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce comprised of human resource professionals and business owners that meet on a monthly basis to network, share information, and discuss mutual human resource issues.

SouthCoast Young Professionals Network (SCYPN)

The SouthCoast Young Professionals Network (SCYPN) is an affiliate of One SouthCoast Chamber comprised of young professionals between the ages of 21-39. The mission of the group is to work with local and regional leaders, Chamber members and other young professionals groups to attract and retain young talent in the region while also establishing our next generation of business and community leaders. This group was created by young professionals for young professionals. Programs include a mix of social events and professional and business development events.

Southeastern Massachusetts Visitors Bureau

The Southeastern Massachusetts Visitors Bureau (SMVB) is the official regional tourism council for Bristol County, Massachusetts. The mission of the Southeastern Massachusetts Visitors Bureau is dedicated to promoting Bristol County as a leisure travel destination in order to stimulate the Massachusetts economy, create jobs, and support the growth of travel and tourism related business. One SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce serves as the fiscal agent and administrator for the SMVB. Programs and initiatives of the bureau include co-op marketing; trade show participation; FAM tours; matching tourism grants; and other destination marketing activities. Read More!

Partnerships

One SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce aligns itself with likeminded organizations to better accomplish our goals and initiatives. Combining volunteers, staff and related community organizations provides a collective strength enabling us to achieve more for our members and the region as a whole.

Greater New Bedford Connecting Activities Partnership

The Greater New Bedford Connecting Activities Partnership promotes the connection of academic and workplace learning through Connecting Activities workplace internships and career exploration activities. Area employers assist High School seniors to make more informed decisions about their future education and career choices. The partnership is a collaboration of the City of New Bedford Office of the Mayor, the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board and Youth Council, Bristol Community College, One SouthCoast Cham­ber, and six high schools in the region.

Supported Employment Network

The Supported Employment Network is a unique collaboration between One SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce and several area organizations that provide work search assistance and support to people with disabilities. The mission of the Network is to create a greater awareness in the business community about the skills and employability of people with disabilities.

Leadership SouthCoast

Leadership SouthCoast (LSC) is a civic leadership development program that provides emerging community leaders with a powerful learning environment and a dialogue that will last long after the program has been completed.
