Mass Cultural Council webinar, 3/19 at 3pm

On Thursday, March 19 at 3pm Mass Cultural Council will host a webinar to share the best advice available on how to manage your organization during this crisis. Guest speakers include Boston Public Health Commission’s Leslie Karnes and Brad Cohen. This webinar is limited to 500 participants and will be available online soon after. Click here to register.

Mass Cultural Council Resources and Five Action Items

Mass Cultural Council is prioritizing 5 action items to help the cultural sector manage financial disruption associated with Coronavirus:

1) They are collecting data from the field on how Coronavirus is impacting you/or your organization. There are two surveys: survey for educators of arts and culture or survey for cultural organizations. They have begun conversations with state legislators on future state mitigation efforts. Completing the surveys will make sure they are able to craft this legislation with real data and impacts in mind.

2) They are working internally to accelerate the processing and disbursement of any remaining fiscal year payments to organizations.

3) They are exploring options on how to extend deadlines on final reports – please connect with program staff with any questions.

4) With their governing Council, they are revisiting their FY20 spending plan with a critical eye to assess how they might redeploy unspent dollars as emergency mitigation funds to support our artists and cultural nonprofits.

5) In addition to the webinar listed above, they have created a COVID-19 resources page with links to useful information. This resource will be updated as more information becomes available from our state and federal agency partners, like the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Click here for more information.

2) They have established a SouthCoast Emergency Response Fund and will be fundraising in order to have some resources for you. Stay tuned for more on that.

3) Like many of you, John is working from home and misses our community. So he is inviting you to a Meet Me for Coffee virtual meeting this Friday at 9AM. No agenda, just dial in, and catch up.
